MELO is Seeking Funding Partners

MELO is actively seeking funding partners to bring the transformative power of the Green Book Exhibit to communities across the nation, while also fueling our next groundbreaking project: a music documentary on the life of Earl Palmer, the drummer whose innovative beats defined 20th-century music. Unlike The Musicians’ Green Book’s broad exploration of Black performers navigating Jim Crow segregation, this film intimately chronicles one extraordinary figure (born in New Orleans, tap-dancing on the Black vaudeville “Chitlin’ Circuit” by age five, serving in the segregated Army during World War II, and later using the G.I. Bill to become the go-to session drummer for icons like Little Richard, Fats Domino, Sam Cooke, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and The Beach Boys). His rhythms powered TV and film soundtracks for The Flintstones, Green Acres, and Mission: Impossible, among others (making his story a profound study in resilience and Americana).

As a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and amplifying these vital narratives, we're looking for visionary sponsors, foundations, and corporations who share our commitment to cultural education and equity. Your support (whether through grants, sponsorships, or in-kind contributions) will fuel exhibit expansions, Road Show tours, digital outreach initiatives, and this captivating Palmer documentary, touching thousands of lives and fostering meaningful dialogues on history and heritage. Join us in this vital mission: contact MELO today to discuss partnership opportunities and become a champion for stories that demand to be heard. Together, we can illuminate the past to inspire a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.
